This is absurd! I don't care about noisy trials of "celebrities", but the idea that a judge can publish a book about one of his cases (e.g. murder of Anna Nicole Smith) and he can make money by selling that book can be the worst virus of any judicial system
Because then it is in the best interest of a judge to add as much heat and noise as he can to the case during the trial (exactly what this judge did) and then make the most controversial (rather than fair) judgement at the end so that people pay more attention and get more involved in the case and therefor more prone to buy any book that can quench their thirst for more information. For example, if I become judge in this system, then isn't it better for the sale volume of my future book to give the guardianship of a celebrity child to his fourth cousin instead of his mom to make the most controversy?
